BMW Questions and Answers

I've compiled a listing of questions and answers that I have developed over the years. Hopefully by reading through it, it will help you enjoy your BMW even more. By the way, I don't answer my customers questions by referring to websites. I take care of their questions on the spot.

This is by no means a comprehensive Question and Answer section, but it is an on-going and growing one. If you have a question of your own, please feel free to contact me at Mr. Bimmer

I'm having a problem pairing my cell phone with my BMW?
To use your BMW-approved Bluetooth® phone in your vehicle, an initial one-time-only pairing procedure is required.

To pair your phone, turn on the Bluetooth search mode in both the vehicle and the mobile phone*.

You will need a Bluetooth Passkey for verification. For the 7 Series, X3 SAV and Z4, X5 and 3 Series the passkey is included in the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual. For the X5 SAV (produced after October 2006), 3 (produced after March 2005), 5 and 6 Series, a random passkey can be chosen: enter it on the phone or vehicle, and the other device will verify it. See your Bluetooth Owner’s Manual for details.

*Please consult your mobile phone instructions to change Bluetooth settings and activate the Bluetooth search or discoverable mode on your phone.
