Current 2009 BMW Line-Up


Below is a small overview of all of the current vehicles in the 2009 BMW line-up.

2009 BMW 1 Series
Scheduled for Arrival: Already in showrooms.
The BMW 135i will have the same 300-hp unit as in the 2009 BMW 335i and will weigh 300 fewer pounds. It is estimated that 135i will be able to do 0 - 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. The six-speed manual and automatic transmission will be available. The BMW 1328i will have the same 230-hp engine as the current BMW 328i.
Estimated Price: About $29,000 for the 128i and $35,000 for a 135i.

2009 3 Series Sedans
Scheduled for Arrival: Already in the showrooms.
The body style is changing in some respects will notice a new hood and the rear taillights have changed.
The 3 Series Sedans will come equipped with the brand new iDrive.
Engine: The 328i with a horsepower output of 230 hp. And there will be a 335i with an output of 300 horsepower. The BMW 335i will have a twin-turbo engine.

2009 3 Series Coupes
The 3 Series Coupes will come equipped with the brand new iDrive.
The Coupes is powered by the same new engines of the 2008 3 Series Sedans. The coupes are having records sales are for the most part having to be ordered, because many of them are sold before they even hit the showroom.

2009 3 Series Convertibles
The 3 Series Convertibles will come equipped with the brand new iDrive.
The Convertibles are powered by the same new engines 328i and 335i of the sedans. They are all hard-top convertibles.

2009 5 Series
Scheduled for Arrival: Already in the showrooms.
The new 5-Series will not have the new iDrive yet. However, they will be equipped with the new shortcut buttons surrounding the iDrive.
The BMW 528i and 535i are powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 230 hp and 300 hp respectively. The BMW 550i is powered by a V8 with 360 hp. Did you know that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the 5 Series its prestigious "Best Pick" rating for the 5’s impressive performance in the frontal-offset crash test.

2009 6 Series
Scheduled for Arrival: Already in the showrooms.

2009 7 Series
Scheduled for Arrival: March 2009.

2009 X3
The new 2009 BMW X3 sports a new 3.0 liter engine with an output of 260 horsepower.. It is known as the X3 3.0si. The 6-speed manual remains standard, but a 6-speed STEPTRONIC automatic is offered for the first time on the X3 at no additional cost. The rear-end has also been redesigned with new black accents on the bumper and new twin chrome tailpipes.

2009 X5
The new 2009 BMW X5 does not change much from the 2008 model.
Engine
The inline six-cylinder engine generates 260 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque, while the eight-cylinder, 4.8-liter engine offers 350 hp and 350 lb-ft torque.
Interior and Options
X5 offers a third-row seat. The interior offers more cargo space than the previous generation. There's ventilated leather seats with 20-way adjustments and 10 interior fans to keep you cool and comfortable. And guess what new large Cup holders. New options have been added such as four-zone climate control and a rear seat entertainment system.
Safety features
Runflat tires will be standard. The Dynamic Stability Control system will have a rollover sensor. And an option of a rearview camera to for backing up.

2009 BMW X6
The sporty SAV X6 is reported that it will be built from the same architecture as the next X3 and X5. It has already begun to arrive at U.S. dealerships and will be built in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Main Highlights
    Share the same wheelbase as the X5
    Seat four or five passengers
    Will have two engines available. An Inline-6 (Twin Turbo) 300-hp and a V-8 (Twin Turbo) with 400-hp
    Sportier than the X5
    Though Better Equipped than the X5.. it will be Pricier

2009 M3
Scheduled for Arrival: Already in showrooms.
Highlights:
M3's with Navigation will have the all-new iDrive!
Engine: V-8. 4.0-liter derived from the 5.0-liter V-10 found in the M5 and M6
414 horsepower at 8300 rpm with 295 pound-feet of torque at 3900 rpm.
Crankcase will be made of an aluminum and silicon alloy and the engine will weigh 33 pounds less than the E 46 M3's iron block inline-six
It is expected that the new M3 will be able to do under 4.5 second in 0-60
Six-speed transmission will be standard for the M3 with probably a dual-clutch automated available later.
First production car in its segment to boast a roof made of carbon-fiber plastic (CFP)
Look for MDrive which will allow you to increase throttle response.
Electronic Dampening control for three different settings: normal - comfort -sport
Weight: Just under 3500 pounds - 50 pounds lighter than the new 335i Coupe
Brakes: 14.2-inch discs in the front and 13.8-inches in the back, ventilated and cross-drilled.
Estimated Price: About $ 59,000.
Special Note: The new 2009 BMW M3 will start production in Septmber 2008

2009 M5
Scheduled for Arrival: Already arriving.
This super-sport sedan is the most powerful 5 Series ever, powered by a 5.0-liter V-10 engine, with a five-liter capacity, 10 cylinders, 500-hp (SAE net) output, 383 lb-ft maximum torque, and engine speeds in excess of 8,000 rpm. And how fast? Try 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

2009 M6
Scheduled for Arrival: Already arriving.
The 2009 M6 will NOT have the new iDrive. However, it will have the shortcut buttons surrounding it. This Sporty Coupe is the most powerful 6 Series ever, powered by a 5.0-liter V-10 engine, with a five-liter capacity, 10 cylinders, 500-hp (SAE net) output. The BMW M6 is designed to redline at 8,250 with 100 horsepower per liter of displacement.
